Robert Pattinson is definitely still in the running to play Jeff Buckley in a new film, following rumours that he had lost the part to Gossip Girl hottie Penn Badgley. Rob has been hoping to play Jeff in a film for years, and even met with the late singer's mother to discuss the role. But reports emerged last week suggesting that Penn had been chosen over Rob. Orian Williams has now slammed the reports, insisting that Penn has no involvement with the film at all.
Williams tells the Los Angeles Times, "Penn is not involved in the film at all. It's crazy how these stories get out... (The producers) are all very unified in our search to find the perfect person to play Jeff... When you have a story about an individual like Jeff you get a lot of interest because his life was so impactful and so short. We're being very careful about it as we move forward. It takes a while to perfect this type of film. You've got to do it for the right reasons."
