Robert Pattinson: 'We step into the era of The Hunger Games, the world wants fresh meat!'

Twilight star Robert Pattinson is set to break the hearts of thousands of Twihard fans after stating that The Hunger Games has replaced Twilight as the top teen flick.

Robert Pattinson: 'We step into the era of The Hunger Games, the world wants fresh meat!'

The hunky actor, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the hugely popular series, has admitted he feels people are already losing interest in the vampire movies following the popularity of Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson's movie, The Hunger Games. This is despite the final Twilight installment, Breaking Dawn - Part 2, not having been released yet.

Speaking to Telegrama magazine, R-Pattz confessed: "I feel like the frenzy is starting to die down. We step into the era of The Hunger Games, the world wants fresh meat!”

The 26-year old, who is dating co-star Kristen Stewart, has already shot his final scenes as Edward Cullen in Canada, marking the end of his Twilight Saga journey, which has shot Robert, somewhat begrudgingly, to superstardom.

Despite the end of Twilight drawing ever closer, Rob went on to add that he is looking forward to revisiting the franchise for the final time. He stated: "I’m curious to reunite with this universe for the last time, to see the effect it will have on me and on the audience."

Earlier this week, Kristen revealed that she would love to work with her beau again, telling Celebuzz: "I'm dying to make another movie with Rob. I think that we're a good team."

The 26-year-old 'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2' star didn't walk the red carpet at the Empire Cinema on Monday (14.05.12) but was present behind the scenes. Kristen, 22, who plays Snow White, presented the film with the cast on stage while Robert watched from the audience.

A source told Us Weekly: "Rob was Kristen's date. Rob was cheering and clapping for Kristen as they walked off stage. He looked proud of his girlfriend."After the premiere, the cast attended Ciroc Ultra Premium Vodka's official after party at the Royal Courts of Justice.

The actress - who stars as Bella Swan with her real-life partner's Edward Cullen in the vampire movies - changed out of her black lace Marchesa gown into a leather jacket and jeans. Apparently, Robert - who celebrated his birthday Sunday - also dressed casually in his trademark baseball cap. An insider added: "Rob met Kristen there. They stayed together in the VIP area all night and looked really cozy. They made sure no one saw them or photographed them."The publication reports that he also brought his family to the event.

A cover shoot showing Robert Pattinson and a hot blonde in bed and topless is sure to sell a magazine, but there could come a a point where it would cross the line. For Pattinson, shooting for an upcoming issue of the French Premiere magazine to promote his film Cosmoplis, the point was reached when the hot blonde model in the photo romp started to lick his naked nipple, reports Radar Online.

Robert Pattinson Stopped Photoshoot That Got Too Steamy!

The photoshoot lasted thirteen hours and the girl was stunning besides being topless, a source tells Radar Online. As she went to work on Pattinson, he grew increasingly uncomfortable, but went along. "Toward the end of the shot the photographer instructed the model to lick Rob's nipples! That was the kiss of death," says the Radar source. "Rob called cut and went in his dressing room and made a phone call. But, he did come back a few minutes later to finish off the photo session, so everyone thought it was all good."A few days later the magazine was asked to yank the naked nipple licking photos from the issue.

Robert Pattinson poses in David Cronenberg homage shoot

(added 4 days ago)

ROBERT PATTINSON has paid homage to DAVID CRONENBERG by recreating scenes from the filmmaker's early movies for an edgy new photoshoot. The Twilight star, who worked with the director on new drama Cosmopolis, took part in a 13-hour shoot with photographer Eliot Lee Hazel to revisit Cronenberg's films.

In one creepy photo, the Brit can be seen lying shirtless on a couch with a hole in his stomach - a reference to Cronenberg's Videodrome, in which the protagonist inserts video tapes into the slit. The spread, for France's Premiere magazine, also features a snap depicting Pattinson in bed with a pregnant woman and a clone of himself, which echoes Cronenberg's Dead Ringers.

In an accompanying interview, the hunk, who turned 26 years old on Sunday (13May12), explains how working with the Canadian gave him a new feeling of confidence. He says, "Filming Cosmopolis with David Cronenberg changed something in me. It gave me b**ls. "Before, I spent my time doubting myself. As soon as I read a script I liked, I was working myself up, asking myself if I was good enough. Now, I tell myself, 'F*** it! If they want to hire you, go!'"

Happy 26th Birthday Robert Pattinson!

Posted in : Gossips

(added 5 days ago)

Well ladies, your favorite vampire hunk turned 26 today and we’re here to take you back in time to remember a few of Mr. Robert Pattinson’s greatest moments.

Happy 26th Birthday Robert Pattinson!

The talented actor made his start in modeling at the ripe age of 12 and when looking back on his career he told Closer magazine, "When I first started I was quite tall and looked like a girl, so I got lots of jobs, because it was during that period where the androgynous look was cool. Then, I guess, I became too much of a guy, so I never got any more jobs. I had the most unsuccessful modeling career."We were introduced to the hunky actor in 2005 when he portrayed Cedric Diggory in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” and he left fans begging for more.

He made his momentous break on the big screen in 2008 when he landed the role of Edward Cullen in “Twilight.” This is the moment when the world got to know and love the blood-sucking heartthrob and as the New York Times puts it, “the shy glances and furious glares of two unlikely teenage lovers who fall into each other’s pale, pale arms amid swirling hormones, raging instincts, high school dramas and oh-so-confusing feelings, like, OMG he’s SO HOT!! Does he like ME?? Will he KILL me??? I don’t CARE!!!”

In 2012, the British actor went on to executive produce and star in the September 11th inspired film “Remember Me,” alongside Emilie de Ravin and in 2011 he stared in the critically acclaimed film “Water for Elephants” with the blonde cutie Reese Witherspoon.

Richard Corliss for Time magazine called his performance star quality and added that the actor "radiates a slow magnetism that locks the viewer’s eyes on him."Throughout his successful career, Pattinson has proved to critics and fans alike that he is more than just a pretty face; he’s a force to be reckoned with and he’s at it again with his new role in the thriller “Cosmopolis.”

Rob on the cover of Premiere (France)

Posted in : Gossips

(added 9 days ago)

Rob on the cover of Premiere (France)Star of Cosmopolis, the new movie by David Cronenberg, in competition at Cannes, RP was a willing participant to a crazy photoshoot that lasted 13 hours! Find out more in the May issue.

In general, when you organize a photoshoot with an actor, whose movies made more than 2.7 billion of dollars all over the world, you except someone cold and shy, someone with a controled image and with a safeguard. Everything is timed to the last minute, especially if the actor arrives late, everything has to be started over again. I say 'in general' because all of this doesn't apply to Robert Pattinson!

It's at the end of our interview that the actor comes up with the idea of a photoshoot dedicated to David Cronenberg's movies. Like an hommage to his respect for the filmmaker, who by casting him in Cosmopolis, offered him not only a passport for after Twilight but aslo the opportunity to come and celebrate his entry to the adulte age, on the steps of Cannes on May 25th.

To say that he got involved in the making of the photoshoot is an euphemism. The first images of Scanners and Videodrome we prepared for him as an inspiration for the future snapshots came back to us with an unexepected commentary: Rob was sorry that they weren't more daring, wanting to push all the limits with this shoot - the complete opposite of what someone in his position would have asked. Two days later, the photograph Eliot Lee Hazel and his crew - sort of strange for this kind of shoot (a special effect makeup artist, a pregnant lady ...) - met in a glummy hotel in downtown L.A. to give the go-ahead of this shoot that lasted for exactly 13 hours.

After seeing the results of this shoot, we're ready to bet that you won't look at Robert Pattinson the same way again. That the last pretence who might still weigh on the actor will fly away as fast as they appeared.

Robert Pattinson’s New Robber Role Could Get Him An Oscar, Insider Says

Posted in : Gossips

(added 10 days ago)

Robert Pattinson is rumored to be playing a robber in the upcoming film Rover, which will be a long way from Edward Cullen and the roles that made him most famous. But a Hollywood insider says the film would be the perfect move to have Rob further his career!

Robert Pattinson’s New Robber Role Could Get Him An Oscar, Insider Says

“Rob’s decision to play the role of the villain in Rover would be a brilliant career move,” Dorin says. “The best roles for men are either blockbuster comedic roles (think of Will Smith) and really vindictive, insidious dark roles. These types of roles catapult normal actors into the stratosphere. Think of Christian Bale in American Psycho, Ryan Gosling in Drive, Javier Bardem in No Country For Old Men and Leonardo DiCaprio in The Basketball Diaries. These roles have defined these actors, who are all now Oscar nominees. Rob is smart because after winning over a male audience in Mission: Blacklist, he will play the bad guy in Rover. He is handpicking compelling roles that will define his range as an actor. Rob will one day be an Oscar contender if he continues making these smart career choices. I know he can do it because I believe he is an extremely talented actor.”

Robert Pattinson Hunts Saddam Hussein in New Thriller?

Posted in : Gossips

(added 11 days ago)

Twilight made him a household name, but since his explosion in popularity, vampiric heartthrob Robert Pattinson hasn't been content in letting fame shoehorn his career. His next role is proof: Pattinson is reportedly attached to star in Mission: Black List, a psychological thriller that puts him in the shoes of real life Army interrogator Eric Maddox. Maddox was influential in the capture of Saddam Hussein, his tell-all book (on which the film is based) revealing in detail how he used non-violent, mind-bending methods to draw out the information he needed.

Robert Pattinson Hunts Saddam Hussein in New Thriller?

Perceptions of Pattinson's range are often shortsighted thanks to the demands of his breakout role (Edward Cullen ain't doing him any favors), but Mission: Black List could be a defining part for the young actor. Here's why:

He's Versatile

First thing's first: Pattinson may come off as disaffected as his Twilight counterpart when he's strolling red carpets, but it's only because he's a serious actor looking to leave the celebrity status out of his work. Between the installments of the much-loved franchise, he's tackled biopics (the Salvador Dali film Little Ashes), realistic dramas (Remember Me) and period spectacles (Water for Elephants). We've only seen a sliver of what Pattinson is really capable of, but his willingness to explore a range of stories, themes and characters is proof that he's more than capable of getting down and dirty in a thriller.

He's Not the First Pretty Boy to Make the Jump to Thrillers

The road to legitimacy can be a tough one for actors who exploded on to the scene at an early age, but Pattinson is following the right course. Like Matt Damon, who dabbled in high drama with The Talented Mr. Ripley, The Legend of Bagger Vance and All the Pretty Horses before tackling the role of Jason Bourne in The Bourne Identity, Pattinson has established himself as someone with the chops to take on movies that seem ""out of his range."" The masses underestimated Damon when he made the jump because he was scrawny and brainy - not a typical action hunk. Pattinson's in the same boat, but that's why Hollywood's finest have personal trainers!

He's Ready for a Transformation

Speaking of physical makeovers, a role in an military-centric movie provides Pattinson with a much needed motivation to lose his recognizable look. If he's going to become Eric Maddox, he's going to have to look the part - and that means dropping his head of hair. And he'll do it - Pattinson may be reserved in real life, but he's never strayed away from adapting to a part. Diamond skin may be insane, but he did it because he had to. A shaved head and a few pounds of muscle may be a small detail, but it goes a long way for an actor looking to dispel preconceived notions. Pattinson should have no problem kicking his image into high gear.

He Can Come Alive

Judging from the previous work of director Jean-Stephane Sauvaire (who is set to helm the project), Mission: Black List should be a highly-kinetic, often-frightening dissection of the American occupation and the hunt for Saddam. The movie will require an energized performance from Pattinson, the other end of the spectrum from most of his films. But never forget his time spent in the world of Harry Potter, where the actor was dropped into action as the star player in the Goblet of Fire competition. Heck, he even smiled in that movie! If Black List segues into moments of action, Pattinson seems fit for the task.

Here's a trailer for Sauvaire's last film Johnny Mad Dog. Can you see Pattinson in this style?

He's Pushing Himself

With Breaking Dawn - Part 2 in the can and ready to be unleashed into the world, Pattinson is planning carefully for the next stage of his career. He could easily play it safe - see Zac Efron in The Lucky One as evidence. But instead, he's capitalizing on his own draw to collaborate with visionary directors in wild projects. The weirder than weird Cosmopolis, directed by the legendary David Cronenberg, will redefine Pattinson when it hits at Cannes this May and theaters at the end of the year. Mission: Black List should complicate him further. Even if the film is a disaster, if he ends up being entirely miscast, the risk factor is reason enough that Pattinson belongs in the movie. Like his Twilight costar Kristen Stewart, who is also mixing it up in 2012, Pattinson is laying the tracks for a diverse career that will allow him to do whatever he wants in the future. He needs this movie, which means he'll push himself to make it great.
